Arno
Christmas time is upon us, and it is up to all of us to spread good cheer and happiness to those we love. To this end, Beedoo! and I have sent some Christmas cards to those near and dear to us, to those far away and dear to us, and to some people we also know:

The inside of the cards said:

On Santa's list
of who's been nice
your name appears
not once, but twice.

Usually we go for funnier cards, but we could not really find anything appropriate. Of course, that did not stop us from trying to make it funny! We figured, ending up on Santa's list twice is not easy, and so this is where we would have come in. To the text on the inside we added: "You're welcome!", and then we stapled the following invoices to the card:

To top it off, we added "Pls. pay" to the card, with an arrow pointing to the invoices.

In all fairness, it was Beedoo! who did by far most of the work. And a lot of work it was. She wrote all the invoices. All of them. Every last one of them. Geez!

The cards that we sent are the first cards we ever sent with Sender's commentary, meaning that every card with an invoice also contained a link to this page. Click the link if you'd like to see all the other items we thought of using.

All that remains for me now is to wish everybody a merry, merry Christmas, and a happy future, be it 2011 or beyond. Joy to the world, everyone!

Beedoo!
Ya know, it's come to a point where I can't NOT make Christmas cards a big production... CDs for Christmas three years with wacky Christmas songs, themed presents before that... I suppose at that, I'm downgrading the complexity of my gifts/cards. That, and it's getting harder to find enough crazy Christmas songs to make a full CD since I've used all the good ones already. Scraping the bottom of the eggnog barrel.

We hadn't meant for this to be a big production either. This is the second year that Arno and I have done Christmas cards together, and when I was on my surprise visit to him last year, I didn't have much chance to spice things up, and had to settle with nice little personal messages... But none of that nonsense this year! ;) The more Arno and I discussed cards, the more evident it became of what I could do to make this into another backbreaking project, so of course I had to do it; the more I thought about invoicing our friends for our services of infiltrating Santa's base of operations to make sure their names ended up on a list which would earn them presents, the more I thought, "You know, I bet we could get some actual invoice slips at Staples..."

So there you have it. In fact, this may be the only project I get done before Christmas, including getting present wrapped, making our traditional cookies and decorating the tree (which was put up in our absentia) because I've been knocked flat for the past few days with a really bad case of strep throat. (Doing better now that I'm on codine! WhEeEeeEe!) So enjoy, I do it all for you. Cherry Mistmas!
